You may recall that recently I took the little guy to the Flagler Beach Pier and had a great time! While we were on our way to the beach, we happened to stumble upon a public park on our eastern trek to the ocean. After we checked out the pier, on the way back we stopped at this awesome park. It turns out that Wadsworth park is actually a free skate park! I was a bit surprised at the scope and size of this park. It was a bit deceiving from the road, and would have had no clue this park was even there had it not been for the sign out front. I’ll warn you, the pictures aren’t the greatest, as I had to do screen shots from the playground search engine I have been using since I accidentally deleted my camera card photos
A FREE Skate Park?
Needless to say, I’m not much of a skate boarder, but I thought this was pretty cool! the little guy and I parked the car and about 15 people were enjoying this free skate park. He loved watching the kids buzzing all around on everything from skate boards to scooters. I was very impressed because everyone actually seemed to be very well behaved. There were a few adults using the park as well, but what makes this location really stand out is that there were lots of adults in the area. Mostly being “skater moms”, there was plenty of adult supervision, and there were even bleachers for seating. After striking up a quick conversation with one of them, I found out that in general, this park is very clean, well maintained, and most of the moms reported they have never had any issues with safety or unruly park visitors. They generally agreed it was a very safe place for their little ones to skate. And since it’s a free skate park, it didn’t break their budget.
