I wanted to take a few moments to break from our St. Augustine theme to let everyone know about a great offer from Best Buy that the Mrs and I took advantage of last night. After a great evening of dining with friends, we stopped by Best Buy to buy an Apple TV, but decided to stop by their mobile department for information on the Best Buy iPhone 5 Trade Up program. A friend of ours posted on facebook last week that she got an iPhone 5 for only $10 so we figured we would check it out. It turns out she war right! The Mrs and I both had old iPhones 4’s, not even the $s, but the ancient 4 models. Generally when we upgrade our phones we go buy a new one and sell the old ones on Ebay, but the Best Buy iPhone 5 Trade up program was too good to resist!
So here’s the scoop: We had been talking about if we wanted to upgrade our phones for awhile now, and determined that there just wasn’t as many must have features on the iPhone 5 to warrant us paying $150 each for an upgrade when our current models were still functional. With the Best Buy iPhone 5 Trade Up Program, they actually bought our old phones for $150 each, and we signed up for a new 2 year contract with our current provider. We have been happy with out current carrier so it wasn’t a big deal. Pretty much they bought our phones flat out and put the cash on a best buy gift card, which we then turned around to pay for the upgrade. Pretty sweet huh? I thought I would share this with everyone as both “4” models are accepted. As the retail and resale value of our 4 models dropped this was a great way to get value from our old equipment without the hassle of selling it online.
