I’m a little late mentioning this outdoor musical festival, but thought it was still worth a mention. There is so much to do at this event it’s difficult to even know where to start!

The Florida Strawberry Festival is a bit like a mix between a county fair, rock concert, and historical museum. Running from February 28th, to March 10th, this annual event is bound to entertain the entire family!

Gate Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free. You can also save a few bucks by purchasing your tickets online in advance (last page of ticket options shows gate admission) or at a few of the local grocery stores.

So you’re into big name bands huh? There are lots of headlining musicians this year including Gloriana, Justin Moore, Randy Houser, Alan Jackson, Pam Tillis, Dwight Yoakam, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Brantley Gilbert, Scotty McCreery, Hunter Hayes, Blake Shelton, and yes even Brett Michaels. Not quite sure how Brett fits in there, but who am I to judge. If you want to check out these top acts, there is an additional ticket price, but they start off at around $15 each. Not bad considering you may pay over $60 a ticket at a top venue to see these acts. Your best bet is to purchase tickets in advance for the musical acts.

Now back to the frugal part… Included with your gate admission are tons of free acts including too many musicians to name, demonstrations on everything from cooking to strawberry related things, as well as a beauty pageant and tons more!

Just like any other county fair, the Florida Strawberry Festival includes a midway with rides, games ans more! You can purchase unlimited ride bracelets that will let you ride till you puke! Those prices vary, from day to day, but can be found on their website.  Be sure to checkout the livestock area to get your fill of animals, and apparently the strawberry cheesecake is a big hit as well!

Because I have a very little one, I wanted to see if there was anything for him to do. Much to my surprise, I found quite a few unique things in the Kiddie Korral! Everything from a diaper decorating contest (believe me he is a master when it comes to coloring diapers in brown shades), a diaper derby (still not sue what that is), and a shoe box float contest!

If you want to really get a feel for what you’re in for, check out their official photo website and click on the photo gallery option for last year’s festival. You’ll get to see what all the fun is about! I would have posted a few of the pics but they are all obviously copyrighted. It was fun though to browse through everything to see what they offer.
