Once a year swarms of folks descend on The Holy Land Experience FREE admission day! This unique theme park in Orlando may be just what your family is looking for! There is no catch, and parking is FREE, admission is FREE and you’ll get to experience biblical times and learn about the life and times of Jesus.
So why would a Theme Park give away FREE admission? The Holy Land Experience is owned by Trinity Broadcasting, and it’s pretty much a tax write off for the organization. Lets face it, when you run a theme park, you must have to walk a very thin line in order to maintain tax exemptions. Once a year The Holy Land Experience FREE Admission day is held and they open their doors and parking lots for the masses. By doing this they actually save $300,000 annually in Orange County Taxes. Each year the date of the Holy Land Experience FREE Admission Day is a closely guarded secret and the public is usually only given a few days notice as it changes annually.
The Holy Land Experience in comparison to Universal Studios or Disney World is relatively small, and has a daily capacity of 1,700 daily visitors. The park opens at 10am, so you’ll want to get there early with the family. According to CF News 13, in years past, they reach capacity within an hour of opening. In addition overflow guests have historically been given vouchers to visit at a later date, but there is no guarantee. This is a nice bonus if you can’t make it into the park that day.
I personally have always wanted to visit the Holy Land Experience, as they have live shows, sermons, and interactions from unique perspectives. There are children’s activities and special events such as guest speakers and sermons as well. You should be forewarned though, that many of the productions on site are graphic depictions of events like the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. You may want to have a frank discussion with your children before hand. Unfortunately because of the small capacity of the Holy Land Experience FREE Admission Day, you may want to have a backup plan in the event you are turned away at the gate. Nothing is worse than a van load of crying children because they were promised a day at a theme park.
