A week or so ago, I read in our local paper that Daytona Beach will host the Great Pumpkin Fest Days this October. Although this year marks the very first event in Daytona, the company that is presenting this event has a long history of successful pumpkin events! Modelled after an event in the Carolinas, Pumpkin Fest Days should become a great family tradition in our area!
- Community Performance Stage – 21 Acts Planned
- Entertainment Stage – 32 Acts Planned
- Trick or Treat Street – 20 Mini Houses to get lots of candy!
- Over 50 Contests on the Contest Stage
- Fireworks Set To Music
- Pony Rides
- Petting Zoo
- Corn Maze
- Racing Pigs
- Arts-N-Crafts Fling
- Pumpkin Bowling
- Amusement Rides
- Local Business Showcase
- Lots of Food!
- And over 15,000 carved pumpkins!
Pumpkin Fest Days promises to be a safe family friendly atmosphere that the entire family can enjoy! Simply put, many areas just aren’t safe for children to trick-or-treat in, so this is a great alternative! It sounds like a great mix between a county fair and community expo! Frugal Florida Fun can’t wait to go!
When I firs started thinking about this event, I was a bit turned off by the ticket price. $10 per person seemed a bit steep to me at first, but on their website, I noticed a $3 off deal. If you bring a carved pumpkin with you, you’ll get $3 off! This is a great deal as we were planning on doing pumpkin carving anyway! Now our creations will get us a discount, and be displayed for the community to see! Tickets are available for purchase online in advance at the non discounted rate. A family 4 pack of tickets is $32 and admission is daily. With everything that you can possibly do or see, I think that the Pumpkin Fest Days would be a great family value!
