Looking for a great date idea for your Valentine’s day weekend? The Museum of Arts and Science in Daytona Beach is hosting a date night under the starts February 13th from 6pm to 8:30pm. Enjoy the Planetarium show, Love and the Cosmos as well as a Laser Music Concert, Champagne, Chocolate and Snacks. MOAS Member are $5 or admission to the general public is only $10.
Looking for something with a little more fire power for Valentine’s Day? Checkout The 151st Anniversary of the Battle of Olustee is this Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m. Join us at Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park in Olustee to experience this battle and the 39th annual reenactment. More than 2,000 demonstrators will present living history impressions and a battle reenactment at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. You do not want to miss out on this grand event, which includes period music concerts, crafts, lectures, battlefield surgical practices and more! Adults are $10 and children are $5 each with Children 4 and under FREE.
Want something even more historic? Head on over to St. Augustine to visit The Castillo de San Marcos will celebrate Presidents’ Day weekend by offering free admission on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 14, 15, and 16. Your family will love the closest thing that Florida has to a castle! Our recommendation is to use the savings from the FREE admission and purchase Old Town Trolley passes to really see all of St. Augustine! Parking is also free for Trolley customers, so you can save $10 by skipping the parking garage!
If you’re anywhere near Apopka this weekend, you won’t want to miss the Old Florida outdoor Festival! This Annual event features all sorts of wildlife exhibitions, a BBQ cook off, chili cook off, shooting, hunting, and fishing demonstrations! You won’t want to miss country music’s finest, Montgomery Gentry and Joe Nichols as they take the stage this weekend. Parking is only $5, with adult general admission $20 and child’s passes at $10 each. You may still be able to save $5 per person by purchasing your tickets in advance.
Speaking of music, head on over to Orlando this weekend for quite a few theme park music acts as well! Universal Studios Orlando will be featuring Jessie J on Saturday February 14th and the Bare naked Ladies on Sunday February 15th. Admission is included with your regular admission to Universal Studios, so dust off that annual pass that your friends convinced you into buying!
If you were lucky enough to get one of the great deals on a Seaworld Annual Pass, you’ll want to checkout Seaworld Orlando’s Praise Wave music festival going on in February. With some great Christian music options you’ll want to checkout Lecrae and Colton Dixon on Valentine’s day. Again these concert are included in the regular theme park admission and do not require a separate ticket to attend.
If classic cars are more your speed, take a trip to the East Coast and visit New Smyrna Beach where they will be hosting the monthly East Coast cruisers car show on Canal Street. This festival has a little something for everyone including some great local vendors, classic cars, fancy cars, trucks, and just about anything on wheels. While you’re there, stop by Little’s Drug Store for some old-fashioned ice cream fun from a real authentic soda fountain!
