Central Florida Fair:
If you’re in Orlando, over the next week or so, be sure to checkout the opening of the Central Florida Fair! This annual event has become a staple for family entertainment. They open Thursday night and offer two weekends for you to enjoy some time with your family, eat some deep fried goodness and be entertained! The Central Florida Fair is running through March 8th, so you have plenty of time to enjoy it!
Hooters Car Show – Daytona Beach:
You can start your weekend off right with a car show at the Hooters location in Daytona Beach. Friday night from 4-7pm come checkout all sorts of cars, enjoy some giveaways, and participate in a 50/50 raffle that benefits St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Stick around and enjoy some great wings and burgers while you’re there.
Flagler County Native American Festival:
Flagler County is hosting a Native American Festival at Princess Place Preserve that will include dancing, weapons demonstrations, encampments and displays.
The festival will run Saturday, February 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Sunday March 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Native American Festival is organized by Deep Forest Native American Experience and the Flagler County Parks and Recreation Department. Visitors can round out their experience by visiting the wild horse rescue area and petting zoo, shopping the trading booths. Food and refreshments will be available. General admission is $5 per carload, up to four, and $1 for each additional passenger.
Praise Wave – Sea World:
If you’re into music, this weekend in Orlando the theme parks are hoppin! Sea World will host their final Praise Wave event featuring Christian Music artist Fred Hammond. The concert starts at 4PM at the bayside stadium and is included with your daily or annual admission.
Mardi Gras – Universal Studios:
Universal has yet another big name music act scheduled this Saturday night, as they welcome Heart to the stage. Take in a concert, enjoy the Mardi Gras parade and even catch a few beads in the area’s premier family friendly Mardi Gras environment. Again this event is included with your daily or annual admission.
Lions St. Augustine Seafood Festival Drawing:
Just a reminder, don’t forget to enter our drawing for a family 4 pack of tickets to the Lions St. Augustine Seafood Festival that will be happening next weekend in the nation’s oldest city! Enjoy tons of crafts, vendors, music and lots of interactive children’s activities as you sample some of the area’s best seafood! The drawing is taking place Sunday morning so be sure to enter today!
Half Off @ Glazer Children’s Museum:
Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. is the Healthy Family Fair at the Glazer Children’s Museum in Tampa Admission on Saturday is half off! The Healthy Family Fair will showcase products, services and businesses from the Tampa Bay area with giveaways and fun activities. The first 150 families to visit the fair will also score swag bags from the event. The discounted admission includes entrance into the temporary ‘Wizard of Oz’ traveling exhibit. The ‘Oz’ exhibit will be on display until Sept. 13.
Florida Scrub Jay Festival:
In its 6th year now, the annual Florida Scrub Jay festival will be hosted at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Operating from 10am to 3:30pm on Saturday February 28th, this FREE festival has lots to offer a Frugal Florida Family! Located in Brevard County, the location is convenient from almost anywhere in Central Florida. Take some time to celebrate the Florida Scrub Jay! This species of local bird is not only indigenous to Florida, but is also exclusive. This special bird only lives in our state amongst numerous habitats. Each year the Florida Scrub Jay Festival changes locations and we sure are glad to have it right in our back yard! So what can you expect at the Florida Scrub Jay Festival? $5 Entry To The Orlando Science Center:
The fun continues this Sunday with a special discount at the Orlando Science Center. Enjoy $5 admission per person and enjoy some of the wonders of science! We have been to the $5 admission days in the past, and found it to be a great value. It’s usually busy, so you may want to plan on arriving early as some of the exhibits can take awhile to go through. Enjoy all they have to offer including movies, and tons of interactive exhibits. The Orlando Science Center is a place where you kids can touch just about everthing!
